Businesses from Tajikistan and Iran are scheduled to meet at a trade conference in Mashhad, the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province in Iran, from December 17 to 22.
According to asiaplustj.info, 16 companies from Tajikistan have sent their requests for taking part in the trade conference to be held December 17-22.
The Tajik firms are mainly active in the food industry, construction materials, and engineering services.
Mohammad Jan Mohammad Jaan, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sogd, will head the Tajik delegation to the trade conference in Mashhad.
Tradesmen and merchants from both countries are going to hold negotiations on the sidelines of the conference.
Tajikistans Embassy in Tehran as well as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Islamic Republic of Iran are expected to support entrepreneurs to contribute to economic and trade cooperation.
The two sides held talks on trade, financial, energy, transportation, industry, engineering services, healthcare, and tourism in the meeting, where they signed 25 memoranda of understanding.
The trade volume between Tajikistan and Iran stood at more than 157 million dollars from January to September 2022. Tajikistan exported commodities worth over 73 million dollars to the Islamic Republic and imported Iran-made goods worth 84 million dollars in the period.
