According to The Iran Project, Araqchi made the comment on his X account on Sunday night. During the day, he paid a short visit to Oman where he held talks with Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.

On March 7, the two diplomats also met in the Saudi city of Jeddah on the sidelines of an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held at the proposal of Iran to discuss the situation in Gaza.

“In line with our plans during recent meeting in Jeddah, I paid a short visit to Muscat to review bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest & concern with FM @badralbusaidi,” Araqchi said in his post on X social media platform, to which he attached a photo of his Sunday meeting with the top diplomat of Oman.

“Our commitment is to diplomacy in defense of peace and stability, and I am always delighted to engage with my Omani counterpart in pursuit of these aims. Our neighbors are our priority,” the Iranian foreign minister further said.

Iran has in recent years focused its foreign policy on boosting relations with neighboring and regional countries, including in economy, partly with the aim of mitigating the impacts of the sanctions imposed by Western governments, especially by the United States.
