Irans Minister of Information and Communications Technology Issa Zarepour and South Korea's Minister of Science and Communications in a meeting on Thursday called for enhancing bilateral relations, especially in the fields of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Zarepour, who traveled to Seoul at the invitation of his Korean counterpart to attend the Asia-Pacific Digital Ministerial Conference 2022, met and held talks with South Korea's Minister of Science and Communications on Thursday.
Referring to the 13th governments policy of developing relations with various states and pointing to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with South Korea, Zarepour voiced Irans readiness to expand relations with South Korea, particularly in the field of ICT.
Pointing to South Koreas advances in ICT and the development of domestic platforms in the country, he noted that Iran, like South Korea, seeks to maximize the capacities of new communication technologies to facilitate life for its people.
Introducing some Iranian platforms in varied fields, he emphasized the readiness of Iranian companies to exchange knowledge and know-how with South Korean companies.
South Korea's Minister of Science and Communications, for his part, stressed the maintenance of relations between the two countries, given the deep-rooted relations between the two states and the name of a street in Seoul called "Tehran."
Pointing to the capacities of two sides in the sphere of ICT, he welcomed the development of cooperation in this sector.
At the meeting, the two sides agreed to pursue the formation of a joint working group to develop the two countries relations in the ICT sector.
