Irans Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Saturday met with his Venezuelan counterpart Carlos Faria Tortosa and discussed forming joint economic commission.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Amirabdollahian underscored the significance Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduros recent visit to Iran.
He also said that Irans foreign policy focuses on theimplementation of the agreements signed during that meetingand that holding a joint commission could accelerate the process.
The Venezuelan foreign minister, for his part, underlined his countrys determination to expand ties with Iran at all levels.
