Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Saturday met with his Venezuelan counterpart Carlos Faria Tortosa and discussed forming joint economic commission.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 77th United Nations General Assembly in New York, where Amirabdollahian underscored the significance Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s recent visit to Iran.
He also said that Iran’s foreign policy focuses on the implementation of the agreements signed during that meeting and that holding a joint commission could accelerate the process.
The Venezuelan foreign minister, for his part, underlined his country’s determination to expand ties with Iran at all levels.
