Press TV - Iran's Bahman Asgari has won a gold medal in the world Karate championship in Madrid, Spain.�

Asgari faced Luigi Busa of Italy in the under 75kg category�s final bout. The Iranian athlete beat the former world champion 1-zero to become the new world champion.

In the under 84kg category, Zabihollah Pour-Shaib beat his Kazakh opponent 3-nothing to win a bronze medal.

In the over 84kg category final, Sajjad Ganj Zadeh lost 5-2 to his German opponent to take a silver medal.
