Press TV - Iran's Bahman Asgari has won a gold medal in the world Karate championship in Madrid, Spain. 

Asgari faced Luigi Busa of Italy in the under 75kg category’s final bout. The Iranian athlete beat the former world champion 1-zero to become the new world champion.

In the under 84kg category, Zabihollah Pour-Shaib beat his Kazakh opponent 3-nothing to win a bronze medal.

In the over 84kg category final, Sajjad Ganj Zadeh lost 5-2 to his German opponent to take a silver medal.
