IRNA � Qatari Defense Minister Khalid Mohammad Al Attiyah who is currently in Washington called on the US to hold talks with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Speaking at a conference in Washington, he urged the US to seek dialogue with Iran to help foster stability in the region.
�The US should strive for serious dialogue with Iran, because if it fails to do so the region will face a catastrophe,� he said.
