ISNA � The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman announced that the Turkish president�s visit to Tehran was under review and hoped the trip would take place as soon as possible.

�During the recent visit to Turkey, Chief of Staff for Iranian Armed Forces General Mohammad Bagheri held good negotiations with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on bilateral issues,� the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said.

�Mr. Erdogan will visit Tehran in the near future and as soon as the situation and the date are determined, it will be communicated,� he added.

He then announced that Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will head for New York in September to participate in the annual session of the UN General Assembly.
