ISNA – The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman announced that the Turkish president’s visit to Tehran was under review and hoped the trip would take place as soon as possible.
“During the recent visit to Turkey, Chief of Staff for Iranian Armed Forces General Mohammad Bagheri held good negotiations with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on bilateral issues,” the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said.
“Mr. Erdogan will visit Tehran in the near future and as soon as the situation and the date are determined, it will be communicated,” he added.
He then announced that Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will head for New York in September to participate in the annual session of the UN General Assembly.
