Press TV- A temblor measuring five on the Richter scale has jolted a southwestern Iranian province, injuring 25people.
The quake struck the town of Naqan in Kiar County of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province on Sunday, Iranian news agencies reported.
Twelve of the casualties received minor injuries, while nine had to be hospitalized, said Faramarz Shahin, the head of the provinces Emergency Medical Services Center.
The epicenter has been putat two kilometers (1.2 miles) away from Naqan at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).
Sattar Farhadi, the director general of the provinces Crisis Management Directorate, said the quake had inflicted some damage to theelectrical grid, sent rocks rolling down the nearby mountainside, and caused cracks in walls.
A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck the western Iranian province of Hamedan last Friday, injuring eight people.
