IRNA � Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that Iran and Oman relations have been one of the good ones in the region.

To a question on Oman�s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi's trip to Iran and Oman�s mediation for exchanging messages between Iran and the US, Qasemi said, �Iran and Oman make reciprocal visits and have standing contacts about bilateral and international issues, when necessary.�

�Each trip has a message and can be an emphasis on the friendship between Iran and Oman,� said Qasemi.

He said, 'Oman is an independent country and determines its own policies and, surely like all his counterparts, one of the main duties of Oman�s minister responsible for foreign affairs is to contact other countries and he can hold talks with any of the foreign ministers in the region and the world; it is an internal issue for Oman.
