IRNA – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that Iran and Oman relations have been one of the good ones in the region.

To a question on Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi's trip to Iran and Oman’s mediation for exchanging messages between Iran and the US, Qasemi said, “Iran and Oman make reciprocal visits and have standing contacts about bilateral and international issues, when necessary.”

“Each trip has a message and can be an emphasis on the friendship between Iran and Oman,” said Qasemi.

He said, 'Oman is an independent country and determines its own policies and, surely like all his counterparts, one of the main duties of Oman’s minister responsible for foreign affairs is to contact other countries and he can hold talks with any of the foreign ministers in the region and the world; it is an internal issue for Oman.
