Sputnik- The Iranian parliament on Tuesday voted for ratification of an agreement on customs cooperation between Iran and Russia, local TV reported.
TEHRAN (Sputnik) According toreports, 142 parliamentarians voted forthe agreement, while five lawmakers voted againstthe deal and five others abstained. The details ofthe agreement, which consists of20 clauses, have not been revealed yet.
In March, Russia's Federal Customs Service said that it was working onsimplification ofcustoms procedures witha number ofcountries, inparticular withIran and Syria. The trade turnover betweenRussia and Iran currently amounted to700-800 million dollars. Russia exports grain, wood and metal, while Iran supplies its counterpart withfresh fruits and vegetables.
