Sputnik- The Iranian parliament on Tuesday voted for ratification of an agreement on customs cooperation between Iran and Russia, local TV reported.
TEHRAN (Sputnik) — According to reports, 142 parliamentarians voted for the agreement, while five lawmakers voted against the deal and five others abstained. The details of the agreement, which consists of 20 clauses, have not been revealed yet.
In March, Russia's Federal Customs Service said that it was working on simplification of customs procedures with a number of countries, in particular with Iran and Syria. The trade turnover between Russia and Iran currently amounted to 700-800 million dollars. Russia exports grain, wood and metal, while Iran supplies its counterpart with fresh fruits and vegetables.
