The recent $400 million payment from the United States to Iran was part of the agreement on the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, Iranian Minister of Communication Mahmoud Vaezi said.





BAKU (Sputnik)�� The money transfer was made the same time five hostages were sent back to�the United States which prompted speculations that the US payed a ransom to�free its citizens. The suspicions were rebuffed by�both Washington and Tehran on�numerous occasion.

"This was part of�the agreement we reached. It was part of�the agreement on�the nuclear program," Vaezi told RIA Novosti, confirming the payment.
