US business tycoon and presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, may have allowed Sadiq Khan entry into the US but London's new Mayor is far from impressed.
Donald Trump may have given London's new mayor,Sadiq Khanthe thumbs upand said that if he became president he would allow Mr Khan toenter the United States, withoutany problems.
The London Mayor would be an exception tothe ban that Trump would place onMuslims entering the States. But Sadiq Khan has hit back atthe controversial presidential nominee, saying this is not just abouthim.
In a recent interview withthe New York Times, Mr Trump was asked how the ban would impact the new London Mayor, he replied saying, "There will always be exceptions."
Mr Khan however, has hit back atthe multi-millionaire's generous offer bysaying:
"This isn't just aboutme it's aboutmy friends, my family and everyone who comes froma background similar tomine, anywhere inthe world."
London's new mayor also said that he hopes tovisit the United States beforeJanuary, incase Donald Trump wins.
Mr Khan was declared the winner inthe Mayoral race onSaturday, aftera fierce battle againsthis Conservative opponent, Zac Goldsmith. He said that he would be a "Mayor forall Londoners," fighting against "politics offear".
Mr Khan said that he would be keen tovisit the US tosee what the Mayor ofNew York City, Bill de Blasio is doing.
"I think Bill de Blasio is doing interesting housing stuff inNew York Rahm Emanuel is doing interesting stuff withthe infrastructure bank inChicago. I want togo toAmerica tomeet withand engage withAmerican mayors."
However, Khan remains unimpressed withTrump's tactics and has compared them tothose employed byhis opponent Zac Goldsmith.
"Conservative tacticians thought those sorts oftactics would win London and they were wrong. I'm confident that Donald Trump's approachto politics inAmerica won't win," Khan pointed out.
