US business tycoon and presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, may have allowed Sadiq Khan entry into the US but London's new Mayor is far from impressed.
Donald Trump may have given London's new mayor, Sadiq Khan the thumbs up and said that if he became president he would allow Mr Khan to enter the United States, without any problems.
The London Mayor would be an exception to the ban that Trump would place on Muslims entering the States. But Sadiq Khan has hit back at the controversial presidential nominee, saying this is not just about him.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, Mr Trump was asked how the ban would impact the new London Mayor, he replied saying, "There will always be exceptions."
Mr Khan however, has hit back at the multi-millionaire's generous offer by saying:
"This isn't just about me — it's about my friends, my family and everyone who comes from a background similar to mine, anywhere in the world."
London's new mayor also said that he hopes to visit the United States before January, in case Donald Trump wins.
Mr Khan was declared the winner in the Mayoral race on Saturday, after a fierce battle against his Conservative opponent, Zac Goldsmith. He said that he would be a "Mayor for all Londoners," fighting against "politics of fear".
Mr Khan said that he would be keen to visit the US to see what the Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio is doing.
"I think Bill de Blasio is doing interesting housing stuff in New York… Rahm Emanuel is doing interesting stuff with the infrastructure bank in Chicago. I want to go to America to meet with and engage with American mayors."
However, Khan remains unimpressed with Trump's tactics and has compared them to those employed by his opponent Zac Goldsmith.
"Conservative tacticians thought those sorts of tactics would win London and they were wrong. I'm confident that Donald Trump's approach to politics in America won't win," Khan pointed out.
