US Vice President Joe Biden met Switzerland�s Federal President Johann Schneider-Ammann on Monday to discuss the latest nuclear deal with Iran and the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine, the White House said in a statement.








WASHINGTON (Sputnik) � Biden expressed gratitude to�Schneider-Ammann for�the country�s role in�the landmark Joint Comprehensive Plan of�Action (JCPOA), whose implementation day over�the weekend terminated sanctions against�Iran after�it was verified to�be in�compliance with�the terms of�the agreement.

He noted Switzerland�s role in�hosting the upcoming Syrian peace talks, the statement added.

The two leaders discussed the conflict in�southeastern Ukraine and means of�extending bilateral economic cooperation.

Biden is in�Switzerland to�take part in�the 46th annual World Economic Forum in�Davos.
