Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said that Russian Aerospace forces do not hit targets linked to so-called "moderate" opposition in Syria.

KUALA LUMPUR (Sputnik)�� Russian Aerospace forces do not hit targets linked to�so-called "moderate" opposition in�Syria, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said Wednesday.

"Aviation and other means are used only against�terrorist groups in�Syria. No other targets, related, for�example, to�the so-called 'moderate' opposition are hit," Antonov said at�the third ASEAN Ministerial Meeting.

On September 30, Russia began precision airstrikes on�ISIL positions in�Syria at�the request of�Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Since the beginning of�military operations, the Russian air group have performed more than�1500 combat missions, hitting over�1800 terrorist targets, according to�the Russia�s Defense Ministry.
