TEHRAN May 04(Shana)--Iran is expected to see its petrochemical production cross 180 million tons by 2015, a deputy head of National Petrochemical Company said.

Mohammad-Hassan Peyvandi said 5% to 7% of hydrocarbon produced in the country is used as feedstock for petrochemical plants.

He added that Iran�s petrochemical production is to reach 44 million tons this year. That would make up 40% of Iran�s non-oil exports.

Peyvandi said a roadmap has been designed for Iran�s petrochemical industry to realize its objectives.
