TEHRAN May 04(Shana)--Iran is expected to see its petrochemical production cross 180 million tons by 2015, a deputy head of National Petrochemical Company said.
Mohammad-Hassan Peyvandi said 5% to 7% of hydrocarbon produced in the country is used as feedstock for petrochemical plants.
He added that Iran’s petrochemical production is to reach 44 million tons this year. That would make up 40% of Iran’s non-oil exports.
Peyvandi said a roadmap has been designed for Iran’s petrochemical industry to realize its objectives.
