Iran considers the Patriot air defence missiles that NATO allowed to deploy in Turkey to defend its territory as a trap, expert at the Turkish-Asian Centre for Strategic Studies Muharrem Khilmi told the Voice of Russia.
Undoubtedly, Patriot missiles are designed for defence purposes. But duringcombat operations, they could practically block the enemys entire medium-range and long-range military and offensive systems, he said.
Most likely, the Patriot missiles were deployed also against Iranian missiles.
At the request of Ankara, NATO is deploying six Patriot batteries and service personnel.
