Iran considers the Patriot air defence missiles that NATO allowed to deploy in Turkey to defend its territory as a “trap”, expert at the Turkish-Asian Centre for Strategic Studies Muharrem Khilmi told the Voice of Russia.
Undoubtedly, “Patriot” missiles are designed for defence purposes. But during combat operations, they could practically block the enemy’s entire medium-range and long-range military and offensive systems, he said.
Most likely, the “Patriot” missiles were deployed also against Iranian missiles.
At the request of Ankara, NATO is deploying six “Patriot” batteries and service personnel.
