Tehran, July 24, IRNA - Over 180 lawmakers have supported a plan by Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf to segregate female and male employees in Tehran Municipality.
MP Zargham Sadeqi said on Wednesday 183 MPs signed a letter supporting the move.

They said the measure is in line with �respecting working women� in the municipality.

The mayor of Tehran has defended his move to segregate male and female workers in city offices, saying he made the decision because �we have an Islamic system and religious dignity.�

Qalibaf said that the five female-only parks created in Tehran had been welcomed by women.
