Nowruz Celebration in LahoreDownloadAccording to The Iran Project,The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of both countries, followed by traditional Nowruz greetings extended to the guests, Saad Khan, the head of the Cultural Organization of ECO, graced the event as a distinguished guest, emphasizing the significance of the commencement of the new Persian year. The Turkish ambassador, Iranian expatriates in Pakistan, and residents also joined the festivities in great numbers.
Addressing the audience, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore, Mehran Movahed-Far, highlighted Nowruz as a symbol of unity, equality, and friendship among nations, serving as a global common heritage.
"We celebrate Nowruz in Pakistan with the hope that in the new year, the relations between our two nations will flourish even more across all sectors for mutual benefit and shared progress," Movahed-Far expressed.
Jafar Ronas, Director General of the Cultural Centre at the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Lahore, remarked on the current period being a blend of diverse festivals, encompassing Nowruz symbolizing nature's rebirth, Ramadan representing the spiritual rejuvenation through the Quran, Jashan-e- Baharan, and Pakistan Day.
In adherence to Nowruz traditions, the Haft-Sin table adorned the ceremony, capturing attendees' attention, while students of the Persian language recited enchanting Nowruz hymns.
