West opposes democratic changes in Mideast: Iran MP
An Iranian lawmaker has lashed out at the West for creating obstacles in the way of democratic changes across the Middle East.
The West prevents the establishment of democratic systems in the region and they seek to portray the ISIL (so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) and Boko Haram as the symbols and representatives of Islam, Member of Irans Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ahmad Shohani said on Saturday.

This is while it was the Western espionage and intelligence services, which created these groups, he pointed out.

The two notorious Takfiri groups have been conducting numerous acts of terrorism and atrocities across Syria, Iraq and Nigeria. Takfiris label anyone but themselves as infidels.
Shohani pointed to the Wests objection to the recent presidential election in Syria and noted, It should be accepted that in the 21st century changes in political systems should take place through peaceful channels and based on democratic values and not through violence means. In fact there is no way other than elections and everybody should accept that.
The Iranian legislator warned the West against lending support to the continuation of violence in Syria and noted that Western states could become the next targets of extremist militants in Syria.

Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. Over 160,000 people have reportedly been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by the foreign-backed militants.

According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies -- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey -- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
