Irans missile capability only defensive, not threat: Former US official

New York, May 28, IRNA Iran?s missile capability is defensive and it is not a threat against any other country, Larry Wilkerson chief of staff of former US Secretary of State Colin Powell said on Wednesday.
Talking to IRNA, he noted that Iran?s missile capability has nothing to do with its nuclear program and the efforts to include this in the final nuclear agreement between Tehran and G5+1 are politically motivated.
Iran?s cultural-historical background shows that Iran is not a threat to any other country in the world, Wilkerson added.

He underlined that Iran-US talks can help boost security in the region including Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.

According to the initial agreements between Tehran and G5+1, the two sides have agreed to focus on nuclear issue and not to discuss other issues such as the country?s missile program or human rights, the former official said.

He noted that despite pressures exerted by some anti-Iranian lobby groups, Barak Obama?s administration is willing to accept Iran?s key role in the region.

Iran says the countrys missile capability is non-negotiable, defensive and conventional.
