Tehran, May 26, IRNA � IRNA Chief Mohammad Khoddadi told Secretary-General of Syrian Arab New Agency (SANA), Ahmad Dawa, in Tehran on Monday that IRNA-SANA cooperation will help promote Iran-Syria ties in various fields.
��Khoddadi and Dawa in the meeting also exchanged views on ways of upgrading bilateral professional ties.
Khoddadi said IRNA, Iran Cultural and Press Institute and News College are prepared to re-publish domestic and international news, while reflecting Syrian developments and training Syrian mediapersons.

Underlining media role in reflecting regional events inlcuding those taking place in Syria through a realistic angle, Khoddaddi said media should try to ensure restoration of peace and tranquility to Syria.

Khoddadi said extremism has created a fundamental crisis in the world. ?Sound, timely and broad dissemination of information by the Muslim world?s media can help stop spread of extremist views in the region and the world.

Noting that a war has been imposed on Syrian people from four military-security, economic, political and media fronts, Dawa said, ?We thank Iranian media for correctly reflecting Syrian events. The Iranian and Syrian nations and governments have always stood by each other.?

Recalling financial, military and logistical assistance of the Zionist regime of Israel to western and Arab extremists now fighting in Syria, Dawa said the war which has ruined Syrian infrastructures and killed its people, only serves the illegitimate interests of the US and the Zionist regime in the region.
