Larijani congratulates Lebanon on Liberation Day

Tehran, May 26, IRNA Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani congratulated Lebanon and the Hezbullah Resistance Movement on the 14th anniversary of the liberation of South Lebanon from the Zionist occupation, May 25.
In a message to his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri, the Iranian speaker described the 2000 pullout of the Israeli forces as a turning point in Lebanons modern history, expressing hope that all lands occupied by the Zionist regime in the region would be liberated soon.
In a separate message to Hezbullah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, Larijani hailed the sacrifices made by the Lebanese nation and courageous resistance fighters in driving away the occupying forces from the South Lebanon in 2000.

Hezbullah forced the Israeli military out of the southern parts of Lebanon on May 25, 2000, after more than two decades of occupation.

People in Lebanon consider May 25 as a beginning of dramatic changes in the region.

The Lebanese commemorate the day as a national holiday and see it as a transformation that changed the regional equations for good, and put an end to the invincibility myth of the Israeli military.
