Iranian films in int'l festival in Cologne

TEHRAN (ISNA)- The first Iranian films festival will be held in Cologne, Germany for May 29-June 2.
Director of the festival Siamak Poursharif said that Iran decided to hold the event in Cologne, because the city is in a superior status comparing to Berlin in terms of culture.

He said Iranian directors and producers will discuss further cooperation with foreign distributers in the event. "Definitely, good and constructive interactions will be held and we try that Iranian cinema will use this opportunity. Iranian cinema holds a special position in Asia which needs to be used."

Some 20 Iranian short films are to be displayed in this edition of the festival, he said, as expressing the hope that a competition section would be held in further editions of the festival.
