ICRC expresses concern over missing soldiers during Iran-Iraq war
Tehran, May 7, IRNA International Committee of Red Cross in a statement on Wednesday expressed concern over the fate of tens of thousands of soldiers reported missing in action 25 years after the Iran-Iraq war (1980-1988).
The statement said the Committee supports joint efforts by Iran and Iraq to learn about the fate of the missing soldiers to alleviate the sufferings and concerns of their families.
The statement comes as ICRC President Pierre Maurer?s three-day visit to Iran came to an end today.

During his stay in Iran, Maurer held meetings with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other Iranian officials and discussed humanitarian issues.

This is the second visit to Iran by Maurer since he was elected as ICRC president in August 2012.
