Zarif defends conduct on condemning Holocaust

TEHRAN, May 6 (MNA) Irans FM has said he will not let Iran to be securitized under unrealistic project of Holocaust rejection.
Zarif in a session with Parliamentarians on Tuesday has said as long as he is the foreign minister he would not let the country to be securitized by Zionist project under claim of unrealistic Holocaust rejection, Mehr News Parliamentary correspondent reported.


Zarif said that the policies of the foreign ministry are all in accordance to the points of the Leader and Imam Khomeini.


Asked by a parliamentarian on his interview with ABC and his remarks on Holocaust, Zarif said he had always tried to fight against the international mentality restricting the national sovereignty and also to oppose any measures which might threaten Iran and wage propaganda against the country.

Zarif maintained that his position in the foreign ministry would be terminated sooner or later, but as long as he was the foreign minister, I would not let the Zionist project of securitizing Iran be effective under the pretext of rejecting Holocaust.

He continued that the foreign ministry staff was representatives of the Iranian nation and they had announced it to international community that Iran was a safe haven and resort for all minorities around the world.

He added that he had already said the same Revolutionary words in New York and Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hamas had thanked Irans 11thcabinet of prudence and hope for its positions on the Palestinian issue.

Zarif had interviewed with ABC where in response to a question asked by ABC reporter about Holocaust he called the Holocaust as genocide. His remarks angered the parliamentarians and the Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission questioned him about the issue.
