TEHRAN (FNA)- Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces for Cultural Affairs and Defense Publicity Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri underlined the failure of the western states, specially the US, in forcing Iran to give in to pressures in the past 35 years.
Brigadier General Jazayeri's remarks came after some American and Israeli think tanks claimed that evidence and documents indicate that the West's policy of sanctions and pressures on Iran has worked.
"Since the theoreticians and politicians of the hostile states do not have a clear understanding of the management of Islamic Iran which is based on the model of the supreme jurisprudence, they have been of the opinion that they will be able to make the Islamic Republic bow to the pressures exerted from outside and change its behavior," Brigadier General Jazayeri said on Tuesday.
He noted that battle with the global arrogance - term used in Iran for the US and its hostile allies - is a fundamental issue rooted from religious, persistent and everlasting teachings for the Iranians.
He underlined that the arrogant powers have tried over the past 35 years to create a chaotic atmosphere in Iran, but every time they have failed to achieve their objectives.
On Sunday, Jazayeri warned that preventing the spread of Islamic Revolution is one of Washington's main goals which constitutes the core of its strategy.
"The main reason for all the US and the arrogant powers' hostile measures against Iran is its fear of the spread of Islam and Muslims unity which prevents their looting (of other countries)," Jazayeri said, addressing defense ministry officials in Tehran.
Noting that the enemy has resorted to soft war due to its failure in waging a military war against Iran, he said, "The enemies cannot tolerate the Islamic Republic of Iran's performance and always take hostile actions against it."
He said that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Soros Foundation, Albert Einstein Institute, National Endowment for Democracy Fund, Wilson International Center, the Bush Foundation, the Hoover Institution, Press Now, the Cyber Command Center, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Peace Institute of America, the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs and Hollywood are among the most important centers which are involved in hatching plots against Iran.
In relevant remarks in 2010, Commander of Basij (volunteer) Forces Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi said that Iran's enemies impose sanctions and resolutions against the country because they are fearful of a global spread of the Islamic Revolution.
Naqdi referred to the UN Security Council sanctions and certain countries' unilateral boycotts and embargoes against Iran, and said, "The enemies of Islam are aware that sanctions will have no impact on the Islamic Revolution, rather they are afraid that the world may join Islam and the Revolution."
