Tehran, April 6, IRNA � Senior MP Gholam-Ali Haddad Adel said the European Parliament (EP) is still practicing colonialist attitudes.
Addressing the Sunday morning session of the Iranian Parliament, he said the tone of the recent resolution issued by the EP reveals that it has not yet forgotten its colonial habits.

He welcomed parts of the document dealing with Iran?s nuclear issue, removal of the sanctions and expansion of political ties between Iran and the EU.

However, the MP slammed the tone adopted by the statement concerning such issues as human rights and elections in Iran.

He regretted that what is said in the statement about human rights and elections in Iran clearly proves that the Europeans are still sticking to their attitudes of the 18th and 19th centuries.

Noting that the EP resolution has repeatedly asked Iran to fully observe the European Parliament standards in all areas, Haddad Adel asked whether on earth people have been obliged to abide by the EU standards?
