New York, March 25, IRNA � Iran?s Ambassador to the UN Gholam Hossein Dehghani said Nowrooz is a good indication of continuation of Persian culture and Iranian identification as well as a reminder of Iranian rich culture and its contribution to the human civilization and culture.
��Persian new year or Nowrooz was celebrated in a ceremony in the presence of representatives from 12 countries and the UN Assistant Secretary General Yan Eliasson and a number of diplomats at the UN Headquarters on Monday afternoon.
Dehghani added that declaring Nowrooz as a World Day by the UN and considering Nowrooz as a world cultural heritage by the UNESCO and recognition of it by many world parliaments show its cultural and historical importance.
