TEHRAN (Tasnim) Belorussian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei will arrive in Tehran on Sunday for meeting with high-ranking Iranian officials, including his counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
The top Belarusian diplomat is scheduled to meet President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Industry and Mines and co-chair of Belarus-Iran commission on economic cooperation Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh, and some other Iranian other officials.
The two sides plan to discuss the latest developments in bilateral relations, including the aftermaths of implementation of the Geneva agreements in January 2014.
The parties will also focus on continuing constructive interactions on the international arena, expansion of cooperation in the sphere of higher education, science, culture, sports and tourism, the ministry of foreign affairs of Belarus announced on Saturday.
The two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.
Belorussia has an embassy in Tehran and Iran has an embassy in Minsk.
Iran and Belorussia have enjoyed good relations in recent years reflected in regular high level meetings and various agreements.
