Irans Shazand refinery producing 10mln liters of euro-4 gasoil per day

TEHRAN (FNA)- Shazands Imam Khomeini refinery in Central Iran is producing 10 million liters of euro-4 gasoil each day, Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Abbas Kazzemi announced on Sunday.
The diesel fuel (gasoil) produced in Imam Khomeini refinery and 11 million liters of euro-4 diesel fuel produced in Tehrans Shahid Tondgouyan Oil Refinery supply more than 20 percent of the countrys needed diesel fuel, Kazzemi said.

He pointed out that production of such a large volume of euro-4 diesel fuel in these two refineries which are located in the countrys mega cities has been planned in a move to help reduce environmental pollution, specially sulfur oxide, in Isfahan and Tehran.

Iran has expanded its refining capacity during the last couple of years, while its gasoline consumption has come down considerably following the implementation of the first phase of cutting energy subsidies.

The country plans to increase its gasoline and gasoil production capacity by 64 and 12 million liters per day by completion of 9 ongoing development plans at its oil refineries.

These 9 projects include gasoline making units at Abadan, Tabriz, Isfahan, Bandar Abbas, Tehran (Shahid Tondgouyan), Imam Khomeini (Shazand) plus development and upgrading plans at Persian Gulf Star and Lavan oil refineries.

Following the implementation of these projects, production of kerosene and jet fuel will rise each by 7.4 million liters and liquid petroleum gas by 7.4 million liters per day.
