Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk is to visit U.S. President Barack Obama at the White House on March 12.
During the visit, the two leaders will discuss how to find a peaceful resolution to Russias ongoing military intervention in Crimea that would respect Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, according to White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.
The Ukrainian Premiers visit comes amid heightened tensions in Ukraine over Russias incursion in the Crimean Peninsula and the region's proposed referendum on joining Russia scheduled for March 16.
Obama and Yatsenyuk will also discuss international aid for Kiev, forthcoming national elections in May and the importance of uniting Ukraine.
