Iranian lifters win gold medals at Asian Youth Championships
TEHRAN, March 8 (MNA) Irans Kianoush Bagheri and Reza Beiralvand claimed two gold medals at the 16th Asian Youth Weightlifting Championships at Bangsaen, Thailand.
Kianoush Bagheri claimed a gold medal in the 69kg weight category on Thursday. He lifted 121kg in snatch and 153kg in clean and jerk. Bagheri won the gold medal with a total lift of 274kg.

Weightlifters from Kazakhstan and Thailand seized silver and bronze medals with total lifts of 271kg respectively.

Ramin Valipour of Iran won the silver medal in the 77kg weight category with efforts of 136kg (snatch), 155kg (clean and jerk) and 291kg (total lift).

Indian Ragala Venkat Rahul finished in first place in the category. The Indian lifter lifted 133kg in snatch, 163kg in clean and jerk and 296kg in total.

Chinese lifter claimed the bronze medal in the category with 283kg in total.

Irans Reza Beiralvand seized the gold medal in the 85kg weight category on Friday. He bagged the gold with efforts of 142kg (snatch), 171kg (clean and jerk) and 313kg (total lift).

Chinese lifters came second with a total of 305kg in the category and South Korean representative win the bronze medal with 299kg.

The Championships is the continental qualification event for the 2nd Youth Olympic Games, which will be held from August 16 to 28 in Nanjing, China.
