Majlis Speaker departs for South Africa

Tehran, March 4, IRNA Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani, heading a parliamentary delegation, departed Tehran to start a two-leg tour to South Africa and Congo on Tuesday morning.
The visit is taking place with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties with these two African states.

Larijani is scheduled to discuss issues of mutual interest with senior officials of the two countries.

Larijani, during the 4-day visit, will go to South Africa first and then will pay a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In South Africa, the speaker will confer with South African president, parliament speaker and head of Senate.

The visit is taking place at the invitations of parliament speakers of the two African countries.

Larijani will return home on Friday March 7, 2014.
