An Iranian MP says the Islamic Republic will not compromise on its nuclear rights, saying that the US seeks to end the talks over Irans nuclear energy program by pushing for the inclusion of Irans defense capabilities.As senior officials of the [Islamic] establishment have repeatedly declared, our negotiations with Americans and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany), are exclusively focused on nuclear issues, member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Ebrahim Aqa-Mohammadi said on Sunday.
Any secondary issues they might seek to bring forward in the process of the negotiations will indicate nothing but the malevolent intention of the Americans, he added.
In order to show to the world people that Americans want to disrupt the global order and bully [other countries] and that they have no benevolent intention, the Islamic Republic of Iran continues the nuclear talks; however, they seek to depict the negotiations as unsuccessful and end them, Aqa-Mohammadi added.
On February 20, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the countrys defense and scientific capabilities are non-negotiable.
Iran and the six powers held three days of talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna, which ended on February 20.
The Vienna talks were follow-up to earlier negotiations in Geneva, which resulted in a landmark interim deal between Iran and the six countries in November 2013. The deal took effect on January 20.
The next round of the talks between Iran and the world powers is to be held in Vienna on March 17.
