TEHRAN Irans Sadegh Kalhor is poised to take part at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.
The Iranian lone athlete will participate in the mens alpine skiing slalom event.
Kalhor participated in the 1998 Paralympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan for the first time.
He will participate in the competitions for the fifth consecutive time.
Kalhor finished 34th in the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver in the mens slalom with a two-run time of 2 minutes, 08.45 seconds.
I trained one month in Austria in October and I am well-prepared to participate in the event, Kalhor said.
The 2014 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the XI Paralympic Winter Games, will be held in Sochi, Russia from Match 7to 16.
The games will feature nearly 700 athletes with a physical disability or visual impairment from 45 countries competing in six sports. The Games feature 72 medal events (34 men, 34 women, four mixed).
The U.S. will compete in each of the sports contested in Sochi with an estimated team of 77 athletes.
