Irans Majlis Speaker says the Islamic Republic will continue its talks with the P5 + 1 group on Tehrans nuclear energy program with dignity.
Negotiations are underway in a logical path and will be continued with dignity and there is no cause for despair, said Larijani on Thursday.
The top parliamentarian further noted that constructive steps were taken during the talks, saying, Iran has a clear stance on the nuclear issue and the West should accept that Iran possesses this (nuclear energy) know-how, and a country that has gained a technology cannot be deprived of it.
Larijani also touched upon the pressure some western countries put on over its nuclear energy program and said, Now these countries have understood they wont get anywhere via these methods.
The West sought to hinder Irans progress in the field of peaceful nuclear technology, but Iran stood its ground and now it cannot be stripped of the know-how, said Larijani.
By imposing sanctions on Iran, he said, the West in fact seeks to cover up its own problems, adding, They know that the reason Iran agreed to continue the negotiations was not sanctions.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain - plus Germany wrapped up their latest round of nuclear talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on February 20. The two sides are scheduled to meet again on March 17.
