Zahedan, Sistan and Baluchestan prov, Feb 27, IRNA � The Iranian and Pakistani security and police forces are pursuing the release of five Iranian border guards recently kidnapped by Jeish ol-Adl terrorist group along Pakistani border, deputy governor of Sistan and Baluchestan province said here on Thursday.
Talking to IRNA, Ali-Asghar Mirshekari said the 17th Pakistan-Iran Joint Border Commission held recently in the Pakistani city of Quetta was positive.

Mirshekari underlined that several issues including efforts to counter terrorism and drug trafficking, supply of electricity to the border posts, extradition of captives, issuance of passport and joint border patrolling were discussed during the meeting.

Deputy Interior Minister Ali Abdollahi too said on Feb 25 that the five Iranian border guards are in good heath.

Abdollahi said investigation into the fate of the border guards as well as efforts to free them are underway.
