TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh is due to arrive in Ashgabad on Wednesday to officially inaugurate Irans 8th Exclusive Exhibition in the Turkmen capital city on Thursday, a senior official announced today.Nematzadeh will attend the opening ceremony of Irans 8th Exclusive Exhibition in Ashgabad on February 27, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Seyed Mohammad Mousa Hashemi Golpayegani told FNA on Wednesday.
He said that around 100 companies and 250 businessmen have enrolled to attend Irans exclusive exhibition.
Meantime, Hashemi Golpayegani said that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani plans to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan before July 10.
Last week, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow hailed Iran for holding exclusive exhibitions in his country, and said these fairs are crucially important for boosting the bilateral ties and exchanges between the two neighboring states.
Irans 8th Exclusive Exhibition in Ashgabad is of high importance in Tehran-Ashgabat relations, Berdimuhamedow said at a cabinet meeting in the Turkmen capital on Saturday.
He underlined that holding such exhibitions are actually in pursuit of a primary objective which is paying attention to the expansion of trade and economic interactions between Tehran and Ashgabad.
The Turkmen government is committed to its friendly relations with Iran , the Turkmen president stressed.
President Berdimuhamedow ordered his senior officials to organize Irans 8th Exclusive Exhibition at the highest level.
Further in the meeting, the Turkmen vice-president in commercial and foreign economy relations briefed President Berdimuhamedow on the measures taken for holding Irans exhibition.
He noted that Irans 8th Exclusive Exhibition will be held in Ashgabat on February 27-March 1.
Iran and Turkmenistan have had official diplomatic relations since Turkmenistan's independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. Iran was the first country to recognize Turkmenistan as an independent nation.
Since then, the two countries have enjoyed good relations and have cooperated in the economic and energy sectors.
Iran has long taken various diplomatic initiatives to expand its ties with the neighboring states. Tehran attaches great importance to its strategic ties with Turkmenistan due to the country's strategic position in the Central Asia.
