TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and his Ivorian counterpart Guillaume Kigbafori Soro stressed the need for the further expansion of mutual cooperation between the two friendly nations in all domains.
In a meeting on the sidelines of the 31st Executive Committee of the 9th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Tehran on Saturday, the two top parliamentarians called for expansion of bilateral relations between Tehran and Yamoussoukro.
On Wednesday, Iranian Parliament Speakers advisor for international affairs Hossein Sheikholeslam announced that over 25 parliament speakers, 10 vice-speakers, and 50 parliamentary delegations are to participate in the 9th Meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Inter-Parliamentary Union in Tehran.
The 31st Executive Committee of the IPU started work on Friday February 14.
The first three days of the meeting is to be held at the level of experts and the Muslim world parliament speakers will take part in the event in the last two days.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, formerly Organization of the Islamic Conference, was established in 1969 and has 57 members. The organization aims to promote dialogue between Islamic countries and the rest of the world and also protect the interests of Muslims when necessary.
