Tehran, Feb 12, IRNA Minsiter of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati hoped the Iranian cinema would concentrate on themes promoting ways of confronting violence and injustice.The minister made the remarks here Tuesday evening while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 32nd International Fajr Film Festival.
He said everyone has to accept the fact that no one voice could prevail the society, adding that existence of different tastes and attitudes in the realm of arts, books and publication, music and even politics and economy is quite natural.
Therefore, he noted, all must practice tolerance and stand all kinds of tastes.
He further hoped the next festival sees Iranian films produced with the main theme of prohibiting violence and injustice.
Referring to the presence of the families of martyrs in the 32nd festival, he said it was the due right of these people to have their voice in the event as the martyrs are the most exalted figures who sacrificed their lives to defend the dignity, Islamic identity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.
The decade-long 32nd International Fajr Film Festival concluded work yesterday by awarding Rastakhiz (Ressurection) by Ahmadreza Darvish and Che by Ebrahim Hatami Kia.
Meriall Zaraei, who won the best actress award for her role in the highly-acclaimed film ?Shiyar 143? by the newly-emerging female director Narges Abyar, asked the audience to stand up in respect for the mothers of Iranian martyrs who had a big share in encouraging braveries of their sons.
The film is the story of a mother who did not hear anything about the fate of her son who was announced as missing in action during the war against Iraq for 15 years. She finally gets ultimate comfort by embracing the bones of her beloved.
About 70 works competed for the best titles in three sections during the ten-day long annual event which holds a prestigious position both in and outside the country.
