Tehran, Bern stress Syrian nation presence in any political move

Tehran, Feb 4, IRNA Iranian and Swiss officials in a meeting stressed importance of presence of the Syrian nation in any political move in that country.

The meeting was held in the Iranian capital attended by Iran?s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian and head of Swiss humanitarian aid department Manual Besler.


Referring to Iran-Switzerland-Syria tripartite talks to facilitate shipment of humanitarian assistance to Syria as important, Amir Abdollahian appreciated efforts by Bern to assist the Syrian nation.

He expressed hope that such talks would lead to practical agreements.

Besler is now in Tehran to take part in the trilateral talks on Syria focusing on dispatch of humanitarian aid to Syria.

The two officials further held talks on the outcome of the recent Geneva II conference on Syria.

Iran-Switzerland-Syria talks opened in Tehran this morning.
