Enough petrochemical products available despite cold

TEHRAN Feb 03 (Shana): Petrochemical plants have stored enough products to pass by cold weather which has caused lack of enough gas for delivery to the plants.
Speaking to Shana, an Iranian deputy minister of petroleum, Abbas Sheri Moqqadam, said that rising gas consumption by residential and commercial sectors has led to shortages, affecting the operations of petrochemical plants which use gas as feedstock.

He expressed hope gas delivery be back to normal in coming days by rising temperature stating strict controls will be in place till cold snap is over.

Petrochemical plants have stored enough products so the market is faced with no problem, Sheri Moqqadam who is also NPC managing director noted.

He further noted that talks with NIGC and NISOC, aiming at meeting petrochemical plants need to feedstock, had made good progress.

Following entering a cold air front to the country in recent days, NIGC had no choice but to cut gas delivery to petrochemical plants located in Assaluyeh and Mahshahr, south Iran, in order to provide adequate gas to residential and commercial sectors.
